World Young Reader Prizes (World Association of Newspapers)

  • #1
Abstract : "The World Young Reader Prizes are awarded annually to innovative newspapers that have devised, in the judges' opinion, the best project or activity in the past 24 months in one or more of the main areas of young reader development.
    It's easy to enter!
Just send us a PowerPoint presentation (maximum size 15 megabytes on a CD or 5 megabytes via e-mail) in English that describes your project and its impact".

    What the Jury wants

The jury, which includes past winners of the World Young Reader Prize, will take into consideration the contribution the programme has made to the newspaper business. This could be in terms of sustainability, revenue generation, circulation, readership growth or brand awareness.

In addition, the project will be judged on its benefits to the stated audience. The project framework should be easily transferable to other countries and situations. Obviously, we will disqualify entries that promote sexism, racism, violence, etc

"Young reader" refers to those under age 25.

There will be one winner in each category. Each category winner will receive a prize stipend of 1000 EUR. Judges may also choose to confer Jury Commendations and Special Mention Awards.

Programmes receiving awards, along with other selected entries, also will be posted on the WAN Young Reader web site.
