I want to support "The Debian Administrator's Handbook", but paypal asks me always to give a creditcardnumber. I don't have one.

Hello Lieven,

You have to link your Paypal directly to your bank account. In order to do so, you'll need to send a signed authorization to your bank so that you can transfer funds to your Paypal account.

Have a great night !

That seems weird when one already has the required money on the Paypal account.

Why do I need to link my Paypal-account to a bank?

Isn't it the purpose of paypal to put some money on it, and than pay with it where it's supported?

I don't see the point to choose between a creditcard and paypal when the paypal-choise askes for a creditcard?

For now, I only use Paypal to pay for things I order on the net.

Hello Yanu,

When you pledge on Ulule, what happens is that you pre-approve a payment in case of success. Paypal asks everyone in that case to confirm their bank account via your credit card informations so that in the case your Paypal account is empty then your bank account can be debited. Paypal unfortunatly doesn't do the difference if you have money on your Paypal account or not since it's a pre-approuval, the money might be gone by the time we have to proceed to the payment.

I hope this is clearer for you.

All my best and sorry for the unconveniance.

Laura
