The Pikes Peak Watercolor Society invites you to share your creative inspiration through International Watermedia XVII, June 24 - July 23, 2011 at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts in : Colorado Springs, CO. Best of Show $2,000, Gold Award $1,000, Founders Award $250.
The purpose of International Watermedia XVII is to present a rich spectrum of original work by visionary watermedia artists. This exhibit seeks to bring recognition to these watermedia artists and their art.
The beauty of the Pikes Peak region inspired Katharine Lee Bates to pen “America the Beautiful.” You are invited to share your creative inspiration through International Watermedia XVII, along with artists from across North America and the world.
Juror: John Salminen AWS-DF, NWS. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Paintings must be predominantly watermedia on paper, clay board, Yupo, illustration board, or watercolor canvas. Source material, including photographs, must be the artist's own. Collage material must be painted by the artist. No computer generated art or prints are allowed. Work must not be more than three years old, and not previously shown in a Watermedia exhibition. $40 for up to three images.
