Lewiston Council on the Arts announces a call to artists for a juried art competition on Aug 13 & 14, 2011 in the historic Village of Lewiston, NY. Over 25,000 people will attend this much anticipated outdoor festival, which attracts art lovers from Western New York, Southern Ontario and international visitors from Niagara Falls, 10 minutes away.

Journey Magazine Lewiston’s signature event features work by more than 170 exceptional artists in a wide range of fine art and artistic craft media competing for Modern Corporation’s “Modern Art Awards.” Exciting entertainment, and the closing of Center Street to vehicular traffic makes this year’s event our most ambitious ever! Don’t miss ‘College Alley’ featuring student’s work - your chance to discover an up-and-coming young artist. First Niagara’s KidZone has creative activities for youngsters. On Sunday everyone’s an artist when the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University hosts Make & Take workshops. Street performers welcome!
Awards: $5000 total. Open to all artists working in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Computer generated art, Mixed Media, Photography, Pottery and Ceramics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Sculpture, Wood. Jury fee $15, Booth fee $150.
